11-year-old charged for threatening Md. middle school
MONTGOMERY CO. – An 11-year-old boy was charged with threatening a Rockville middle school Friday, police say.
Police say the boy called Parkland Middle School and made general threats against students at the school.
A school faculty member reported the threat to police, and officers responded to the school around 12:30 p.m.
The investigation shows that the boy who made the threat is not a student at Parkland Middle School.
The child was charged with one count of disrupting school activities and one count of making a threat of mass violence, police say.
After being charged, police say the boy was returned to his parents.
