MONTGOMERY CO. – A man who, police say, robbed a Germantown 7-Eleven this month was caught and arrested thanks to tips and a “Call of Duty” backpack.

21-year-old Logan Lawson, of Germantown, robbed a 7-Eleven located in the 12800 block of Clopper Road on May 19, police say.

The investigation shows that Lawson entered the store with a handgun. Lawson threatened an employee behind the counter and demanded cash from the registers. Police say Lawson took the money and fled.

Police released surveillance video of Lawson and were able to identify him after receiving multiple tips from the public.

One officer noted that Lawson’s “Call of Duty” backpack was given to customers who pre-ordered the latest video game. Detectives were able to confirm that Lawson did pre-order the game and received the bag.

Lawson was arrested on May 25 at a Gaithersburg motel and is charged with armed robbery.
