UPDATE: Teen arrested for murder of 15 year-old D.C. boy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police arrested 16-year-old Daquan Gray for the murder of 15-year-old Jaylyn Wheeler that happened May 16 in Southeast, D.C.

Gray is being charged as an adult with first degree murder while armed, police say.

Wheeler, of Southeast, was shot and killed on May 16 in Southeast, D.C.

Police say they responded to the 600 block of Alabama Avenue, SE for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police say officers found Wheeler suffering from gunshot wounds.

Wheeler was taken to a hospital where, officials say, he was pronounced dead.
