PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – A house in Prince Frederick, Maryland was completely destroyed in a possible explosion, fire officials say.

Firefighters were called to a house fire in the 4000 block of Sparkleberry Court Monday. Initial reports claimed an explosion was heard.

The single-family house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and two occupants were outside at a neighbor’s driveway.

Fire officials say a possible explosion took place, but the official cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office.

The home and vehicles on the property were destroyed. Other structures on the property were threatened, but ultimately saved during the incident.
