UPDATE: Man arrested in fatal shooting of pair in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Police say they arrested 33-year-old Alonzo Lewis for the murder of two people in D.C. over the weekend.

Police say they responded to the first block of Galveston Street, Southwest on Saturday, May 26 around 10:10 p.m. for the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police say officers found 40-year-old Jaquon Helm, of Southwest, and 35-year-old Venius Badgett, of Southwest, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims died from their injuries.

Lewis is charged with two counts of first degree murder while armed.
