D.C. man arrested after intending to kidnap, sexually abuse victim

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man is behind bars after, police say, he assaulted a victim with the intent to sexually abuse and kidnap the person.

Police say the incident happened at the 2900 block of Adams Mill Road, Northwest on Monday around 12:30 a.m.

46-year-old Anthony Wilcox, of Northwest, D.C., approached the victim in the stairwell of an apartment building. Officials say the suspect briefly restrained the victim with the intention of committing a sex act.

As the victim attempted to flee, police say Wilcox assaulted the victim.

Police say the victim was able to escape and Wilcox was arrested. Wilcox is being charged with assault with the intent to commit first degree sexual abuse and kidnapping.
