Fans pack Capital One Arena to watch Caps earn a spot in the Stanley Cup finals

WASHINGTON D.C. -- Thousands of Capitals fans ditched the living room and area bars to watch their favorite team at the team's home arena and clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in 20 years.

Washington defeated Tampa Bay 4-0 in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Final series to win the Prince of Wales trophy Wednesday night.

In the last two games of the series the Capitals outscored the Lightning 7-0. Goalkeeper Braden Holtby posted back to back shutouts to help set up a matchup between the Las Vegas Golden Knight and the Caps that begins Monday in Sin City.
