Arrests made in the stabbing death of a 16 year old

WASHINGTON, DC — DC Police announced two arrests have been made in a homicide that occurred on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in the 1300 block of 2nd Street, Northeast.

At approximately 4:25 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to the report of a stabbing at the listed location.  Upon arrival, members located a juvenile male victim, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from a stab wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 16 year-old Tyshon Perry, of Northeast, DC.

On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, DC Superior Court arrest warrants, 18 year-old Kurt Hewitt of Southeast, DC and 16 year-old Demonte Hewitt of Northeast, DC were arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed.
