PRINCE GEORGE’S CO. – A man is now in critical condition after being shot at a church in Prince George’s County early Sunday morning, police say.

Saint Matthias the Apostle Church was hosting a celebration when, police say, a fight broke out around 2:30 a.m.

That’s when shots were fired.

Police say they were called to the scene at the 9400 block of Annapolis Road in Lanham.

One man was shot during the dispute and taken to a hospital, where officials say he is in critical but stable condition.

According to authorities, this was not a random act and there was no threat of mass violence.

Police say one man is in custody and they are still investigating what led to shots being fired.
