PRINCE GEORGE'S CO., Md. - One woman died in a Beltsville house fire early Saturday morning, fire officials say.

According to Prince George's County Fire and EMS, neighbors called 911 around 3:30 a.m. to report a house fire at the 11400 block of Howard Court.

When firefighters arrived, officials say the two-story house was consumed with heavy fire. Firefighters extinguished a majority of the outside of the home before they were able to enter.

When firefighters entered, officials say they found a woman inside. They removed the woman from the home and pronounced her dead at the scene.

A family member tells DCW50 she was a mother to three boys and her youngest son was just one-years-old.

Fire and EMS officials say the home was built in the 1920’s and was the original farmhouse for the property, where single-family homes now exist behind the Behnke Nursery off of Baltimore Avenue.

Officials say it took 60 firefighters 90 minutes to extinguish the fire. They estimate the damages at $200,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Prince George's County Fire is withholding the identity of the woman, pending an autopsy.
