Homeless man killed in NE, D.C. hit-and-run

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A homeless man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run that happened in Northeast, D.C. early Monday morning, police say.

The investigation shows a pedestrian was found laying in the middle of the road at the 1300 block of New York Avenue, NE around 12:45 a.m.

The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on New York Avenue, police say.

Officials say the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene.
