MONTGOMERY CO. – One woman is dead and five others are injured after a collision in Fairland Sunday morning that involved a suspected DUI, police say.

The investigation shows that a black Honda Pilot and a silver Honda Pilot got into a minor collision around 3 a.m. and stopped in a southbound lane at Columbia Pike and Fairland Drive.

After the collision, police say My Nguyen, the driver of the black Pilot, and a male passenger in the same car got out of the car and stood next to it.

Then, police say a BMW 321i that was driving southbound, for reasons still under investigation, struck Nguyen, the passenger, and the black Pilot.

Officials say Nguyen, 46, of Greenbelt, died from injuries at the scene. Police say the man standing outside the car and an adult female passenger sitting in the backseat of the black Pilot were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police identified the driver of the BMW as 29-year-old Ivan Kadian, of Hyattsville.

Kadian was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence, police say.

Police say an adult male passenger of the BMW was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The driver and passenger of the silver Pilot were also taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.

The investigation is ongoing. Stay with DCW50 for the latest.
