Coast Guard searching for man in water near Woodrow Wilson Bridge

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO. – The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a possible man in the Potomac River near the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, officials confirm to DCW50.

Maryland Natural Resources received a call Saturday morning regarding a suspicious package found under the bridge, Coast Guard officials say.

A cell phone was found in the bag, and officials say a mother called and said her 22-year-old son had been missing for several days.

The Coast Guard started their search around 7:30 a.m., but say they have not found anything yet.

Officials say no one reported seeing the man get into the water.
