Hiker seriously injured after falling into creek

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A hiker is seriously injured after falling down a ravine and into a creek, rescue officials say.

Officials say the male hiker was jogging by Rock Creek near 24th Street and North Street, Northwest.

The man fell down a ravine and landed in Rock Creek.

Officials say the man was assisted out of the water by a witness.

The hiker was packaged and transported to a hospital with serious injuries, officials say.
