PRINCE WILLIAM CO. – A Dumfries woman was arrested Tuesday for strangling a 10-year-old boy, police say.

Police say they responded to the 17700 block of Main Street in Dumfries to investigate an assault.

The investigation showed 32-year-old Jacqueline Fraley, a family member of the victim, was involved in an argument with the young boy that eventually escalated.

During the encounter, police say Fraley allegedly grabbed the victim by his arm and pulled it behind his back. Then, the victim attempted to go to his room where he was confronted again by Fraley.

At that point, police say Fraley grabbed the boy by his neck and pushed him against a bunk bed.

Fraley and the boy eventually separated and the boy went home with another family member to report the incident to the police.

Minor injuries were reported.

Police say Fraley is charged with strangulation and domestic assault and battery.
