WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 19-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle in Northwest, D.C. last month died from his injuries on Thursday, police say.

Kennth Clarke, of Bothell, Washington, was attempting to cross Western Avenue in the 5300 block on March 27 around 10:25 p.m. when, police say, he was struck by a vehicle driving westbound.

Clarke was a freshman at American University studying political science, according to a GoFundMe.

DC Fire and EMS transported the pedestrian to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.

Police say Clarke succumbed to his injuries Thursday.

“Kenneth was a kind, intelligent, caring person who will be missed by all. Please continue to pray for his family who will need the support through these tough times,” says the GoFundMe.
