WASHINGTON, D.C. – D.C.’s famous cherry blossoms have finally reached their peak bloom, National Park Services says.

The blossoms’ peak bloom, which started Thursday, should last for the next 4 to 7 days.

NPS says the changing temperatures, wind storms, and late season snow put the blossoms through a wringer this year.

Under ideal conditions, NPS says the trees can hold their blossoms for up to two weeks.
