Employee struck and killed by vehicle at car wash

PRINCE WILLIAM CO. – A Virginia woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle at a Manassas car wash Saturday, police say.

Police say they responded to a pedestrian collision at Soaps and Suds Car Wash at the 9700 block of Liberia Avenue around 8:45 a.m.

An investigation revealed that a 19-year-old male employee was attempting to move a Jeep from the back of the car wash after it had been cleaned.

Police say as the vehicle moved forward, it collided with a Dodge Ram which then hit a Scion XD. That vehicle then struck a female employee who was in the parking lot.

The female employee, identified as 38-year-old Paula Margarita of Manassas, was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The owner of the Jeep stayed at the scene was uninvolved in the incident.

Police sat the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
