Police searching for attackers of Ride On bus driver

BETHESDA, Md. -- Montgomery County Police are asking for the public's help in identifying three people who are accused of attacking a Ride On bus driver on March 7th

According to police, the suspects were picked up at the Nicholson Court stop and became disorderly, disturbing other riders, an uncommon scenario according to Ride On passenger, Harland Clark.

"I've bee working here for about to two years and I've never seen any unruly kids or anything, so that's really surprising.", said Clark.

Police say that the driver stopped at the Arizona Circle stop, near Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, and asked the three to get off the bus, which is when one of the group spat at the driver.

The driver then got off the bus and was immediately attacked by another one of the group and pepper sprayed.

While riders say they generally feel safe riding the bus, riders like Peter Connley understand that some riders will be problematic.

"Once in a while there's that one person who starts yelling at the bus driver for no reason or just like one minor thing happens and they just start getting loud about it and everyone just pretty much hunkers down.", said Connley.

Montgomery County Police are offering a $10,000.00 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

Calls to Ride On about this incident have not yet been returned.
