WASHINGTON, D.C. – Neighbors in the community where a man was killed by a tree falling onto his car during a windstorm created a GoFundMe page for his family.

Paul Agbo was driving his car home on the 2500 block of 44th Street in Northwest, D.C. on March 2nd during a windstorm, when a tree fell and struck his car.

He died days later at the hospital.

“He was beloved by neighbors who knew him, who say he was the kindest, most gentle, highly intelligent man, a gentleman in every sense,” it says on the GoFundMe page.

The page says Agbo came to the U.S. from Ghana and recently celebrated becoming a U.S. citizen. He leaves behind a wife and two kids, aged 8 and 13.

The purpose of the GoFundMe is to help Agbo’s family and express to them how much the community cares. It raised more than $10,000 in just three days.
