PRINCE WILLIAM CO. – A juvenile is dead and two others are seriously injured after a car crashed into a tree in Dumfries Sunday morning, Prince William County Police say.

An investigation revealed a 1992 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Potomac Shores Parkway near Cherry Hill Road around 3 a.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

A front seat passenger, identified as a juvenile male, was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police say.

The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old male, was flown to a hospital with serious injuries, according to authorities.

Officials say a backseat passenger, identified as a juvenile male, also sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police say charges are pending and the investigation continues.
