WASHINGTON, D.C. – Three men were shot Saturday night in a drive-by while they were standing near a Metro stop, police say.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. near the Shaw-Howard University Metro station at the 1700 block of 8th street Northwest.

A woman reported the shooting to the police after hearing gunshots. When police arrived, they found blood and shell casings.

Police say they checked with local hospitals and found the three victims were transported to Howard University Hospital in personal vehicles.

Officials say the men are conscious and breathing.

Police are looking for four suspects and a car involved in the shooting. Police describe the car as a black 2016 Mazda Hatchback with a New York license plate that reads “HER3782.”
