FAIRFAX CO. – A fox bit a dog, cat, and man Thursday night in Alexandria, Virginia.

The attack happened at the 2300 block of William and Mary Drive around 9:09 p.m.

Police say the fox bit the man and then attacked a cat that was underneath a car. The fox then fled and has not since been located. The cat was injured, but survived.

While police were investigating those two attacks, they received a report of another attack on a dog. In this incident, the fox attempted to bite a man, but only managed to steal his shoe while he was trying to kick the fox away. The dog was quarantined due to possible exposure to rabies, police say.

Police are unsure if the fox has rabies, but aggressive tendencies are indicative of the disease. Officers searched the area twice and did not find the fox.
