Much warmer air is surging towards the Mid-Atlantic. It will be a relatively mild night with temperatures in the mid 40s to around 50°. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with areas of fog likely. Tomorrow’s temperatures will soar into the mid 70s, approaching the record high at Reagan National Airport, which is 76° (set in 1930).

We’ll likely break the Wednesday record of 75°, with highs in the mid to upper 70s across the region. The next cold front may trigger a late day shower on Wednesday, with higher rain chances Wednesday night into Thursday. This front will slide through the DMV by Thursday morning, meaning temperatures will hold steady or lower during the day.

Friday will be cooler with some more showers possible. Then we’ll warm back into the 60s over the weekend, although it will remain unsettled with additional rain chances.
