5 patients taken to hospital after elevator gets stuck in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – An elevator with 26 people on board stalled out in a D.C. building Thursday night, officials say.

D.C. Fire and EMS responded to the incident at the 900 block of Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest  just before 6:30 p.m.

Of the 26 people on board, officials say five have been transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The scene is now cleared.
