Teen critically injured in PG County shooting

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., Md. – Police are on the scene after they say a teen was shot and critically injured in Prince Geoge’s County on Monday evening.

Officials say it happened in the 6700 block of Leyte Drive around 5:15 p.m. Officers responded to the area after receiving reports of a shooting. Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victim was taken to the hospital, and police say he is currently in critical condition.

At this time, investigators are working to determine suspects and a motive in this case. They say they do not believe this was a random crime.
