Man threatened to kill family in Fairfax barricade

FAIRFAX CO. – A man threatened to kill his family members during a 10 hour barricade in Fairfax County, police say.

Police responded to the barricade around 4 a.m. Sunday at the 13200 block of Ladybank Lane in Herndon.

Around 9:40 a.m., police said the family made it out the home without any injuries.

During the barricade, the man also threatened to shoot at officers.

Police say they communicated with the man for hours to reach a peaceful resolution.

Around 2:15 p.m., police reported that the barricade ended, and that the man surrendered and is now in custody. No one was injured.
