UPDATE: 14-year-old charged for setting man on fire

FAIRFAX CO. – A 14-year-old is being charged after allegedly robbing and setting a man on fire, officials say.

Police say the boy was arrested yesterday and taken to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center. He faces attempted robbery and malicious wounding charges.

Investigators are working to identify others involved.

When police arrived on the scene, they found the man with burns on his clothing and backpack. Police say the man was initially sleeping and woke up to his backpack on fire. He was treated for injuries to his upper body and released from the hospital.

Original post: Officers detained two suspects and are searching for three more in connection to lighting a man on fire, according to Fairfax County police.

A caller reported a man being assaulted by five to six young men and saw them light him on fire at the 4500 block of Commons Drive in Annadale, police say.

Officers are searching the area for the remaining suspects. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
