WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of the DMV including Metro DC from 9PM tonight until 9AM tomorrow.  Light snow is expected to arrive in the area late this evening and continue into the morning commute.  Accumulations will be on the light side, likely an inch or less in the District, with 1-2 inches across northern Virginia and 2-3 inches over western Maryland.  The snow is likely to be disruptive to the morning commute, causing some travel delays.

Another shot of cold air will arrive as well, keeping temperatures in the upper 20s tomorrow.  We’ll reach the teens in many places early Thursday morning, but rebound to near 40° during the afternoon.  This cold blast will be a brief one, as a significant warm-up is on the way for the weekend.  Afternoon highs will be in the 50s Saturday and Sunday, with some low 60s a possibility across northern Virginia on Sunday.
