Man arrested in fatal shooting of DC man

PRINCE GEORGE’S CO., Md. – Prince George’s County Police say they have arrested a man in the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Armani Coles, who is a D.C. resident.

Police have identified that suspect as 20-year-old Malique Lewis.

The incident happened on December 28th, 2017 at the intersection of Kenilworth Avenue and Eastern Avenue. Police say they were called to the scene for a welfare check of a man lying the road. When officers arrived, they found Coles suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

At this time, there is no word on a motive in this case, and it still remains under investigation.

Lewis has been charged with first degree murder, assault, and several other related charges. He’s currently being held without bond.
