WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week's Opening Act is The Mattson 2, an identical twin guitar and drums duo. The duo, made up of Jared and Jonathan Mattson, compose jazz-rock orchestration consisting of layered guitars and jazz hard-bop drumming.

The identical twin’s deep telepathic kinship navigates colorful forms of beautiful weirdness and exotic landscapes of layered improvisation, transcending the concept of modern musical performance.

They have toured relentlessly throughout Japan, Brazil, Paris, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, The Netherlands, and the United States. Mattson 2 have collaborated/shared the stage with Chaz Bundick, Toro Y Moi, Badbadnotgood, Ray Barbee, Tommy Guerrero, Cornelius, Chocolat & Akito Katayose and more.

The duo performed at The Hamilton, located two blocks away from the White House and named after Alexander Hamilton, known for its envelope-pushing, visionary, music and talent.
