ARLINGTON – The fifth annual Freedom Ruck started Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond. Within the next 48 hours, Vic Wise and friends would walk 106 miles to Arlington National Cemetery in the arctic cold.

“The goal of Freedom Ruck is to simply say thank you. We try to lead by example and inspire folks to stand behind these heroes and their families. Our hope is to rally the public to take action. Our servicemen and women deserve to know how much we appreciate what they do,” Wise says.

The Freedom Ruck has raised over $30,000 for The Navy Seal Foundation.

Wise made it to Arlington this morning at 4:44 a.m.
