Fairfax Red Robin employee charged for filming minor in restaurant bathroom

FAIRFAX CO. – Police have charged a 17-year-old Reb Robin employee for filming a 15-year-old boy in the restaurant bathroom in the Fair Lakes area of Fairfax on December 26.

Fairfax police say the victim reported a person pointing a cell phone at his urinal and appeared to be recording him. The victim confronted the person and learned that the suspect was an employee of the restaurant. The victim then told his mom who alerted Red Robin of the incident and later called police.

Police responded to the restaurant on the 13000 block of Fair Lakes Shopping Center but they say the Red Robin employees would not release information about the charged employee. The case was turned over to the Child Exploitation Unit who wrote and executed a search warrant at the restaurant.

The 17-year-old suspect was identified and charged with unlawful filming of a minor and possession of marijuana.
