Coastal storm on its way
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Although the main effects of this storm will be felt along the coast, enough snow will push inland to give the D.C. Metro area around an inch of snow by sunrise. Snow showers will push in before midnight and continue through around 6am. At this point there are no advisories for the immediate area, but eastward toward the Delmarva and along the coast there are Winter Storm Watches and Warnings from tonight through midday Thursday. Snow amounts in the warned areas will range from 2-6″. Once the system leaves, cold, dry air will move in quickly creating a blustery day with NW winds gusting over 30 MPH at times.
