RESTON, Va. - Fairfax County Police say they are investigating a double murder that happened Friday morning, just a few days before Christmas.

Police say they were called to the 2600 block of Black Fire Court in Reston for a shooting that happened around 5 a.m.

Officers pronounced Scott Fricker, 48, and his wife, Buckley Kuhn-Fricker, 43, dead at the scene.

Police say a third person was also shot and taken to the hospital in critical condition, but would not identify who that person was.

Neighbors tell DCW50 the couple had three children including a 16-year-old daughter and young son in elementary school. The couple just attended a neighborhood Christmas party a few days ago.

"They're a lovely family," says Sunny Strauss, a neighbor. "I’m still in disbelief that something this horrific could happen here and I’m so sorry for everyone involved, I mean my stomach just aches."

Several other people inside the home at the time were not injured, according to police.

Detectives believe they are all known to each other and there is no threat to public safety.

Neighbors say they saw the young son leaving the home, along with his grandfather and grandmother, but did not see any other family members.

Police said on Friday that they were conducting interviews to determine the relationships between all of those involved and what might have led to the shooting

No one has been charged at this time.
