A blast of very cold air is moving into the DMV this evening. Temperatures will plummet into the teens and low 20s by early morning, with wind chills in the single digits. Tomorrow will be a bright, sunny day, but temperatures will struggle to reach the mid 30s.

Wind chill values will remain in the upper teens to mid 20s. Winds out of the west will occasionally gust to 30 mph. An upper level disturbance swinging through the region Wednesday night may trigger a few snow flurries into early Thursday morning. While temperatures may rebound into the low 40s Thursday afternoon, another shot of cold air will arrive by Friday morning.

A few light snow showers or flurries are possible on Friday. This will be followed by milder air returning over the weekend, with temperatures reaching the mid and upper 40s by Sunday. The next system will bring some rain showers later Sunday into early Monday.
