WASHINGTON, D.C – The DC Public Library is hosting an art competition this Saturday, the 2nd, to pick an artist to design the ceiling of the Grand Reading Room of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.  The event will be at the Petworth Library starting at 9:00 a.m. and will go on until 1:00 p.m.

Their Facebook states that “This is an opportunity for artists to design a signature visual feature of the Library, drawing on the Library’s vast Special  Collections archive of D.C. History.”  There are four finalists that were chosen to present proposals for public comment.

The event will also be live-streamed on their main D.C public library Facebook page where you will be able to interact in real time.
