Woman assaulted while walking to work in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, VA -- Prince William County Police are investigating an assault that happened Wednesday morning in Woodbridge, Va.

Police said a woman was walking to work in the area of Walnut St and Sycamore St shortly before 7 a.m. when an unknown man jumped out of a nearby bush and grabbed her.

Police said during the ensuing struggle the man ripped the woman's shirt but she was able to escape and ran to her work where she called police.

A police search, which included a helicopter and K-9 unit, did not locate the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 40-50 years old, 6'0", 195 lbs, with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and gloves.
