D.C. officer charged with felony cruelty to a child

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A D.C. police lieutenant was arrested and charged on Friday with second degree cruelty to a child.

Lieutenant David Hutchinson, has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation. In a statement, the department said that the arrest stemmed from a domestic incident.

Hutchinson is a 27-year veteran of the police force, and was assigned to the Second District.
