MONTGOMERY CO, Md. – According to a Press Release posted on the Montgomery County Police Department’s website and a criminal warrant, a suspect was charged with multiple fraud and forgery crimes as well as obtaining property of a vulnerable adult by using deception.

Kim Dashawn Prophet, 24, was charged with fraud after an incident that occurred on August 11th of this year.

Prophet went to a Navy Federal Union on Rockville Pike and posed as the unidentified 22 year old, male, autistic victim. He deposited a counterfeit check into the victim’s account which had the forged signature of the victim on it. The suspect then went to an ATM and used the victim’s bank card (which he had stolen) and withdrew $600 from the account.

After a video and surveillance photos were released in early October detectives received numerous tips as to Prophet’s identity.

Prophet is currently in custody at the Arlington County, Virginia, Detention Facility on unrelated charges.
