PGPD search for person of interest in sexual assault

UPDATE Oct. 26 at 10:03 a.m. Prince George's County Police said they have identified the man in the video and spoken with him. They have determined he is not involved in the sexual assault. Police continue to investigate and are asking for the public for more tips.


BOWIE, MD -- Prince George's County Police have released surveillance video showing who they call a person of interest in a sexual assault that happened on Monday in Bowie, Md. and are asking for the public's help in identifying him.

The assault happened on October 23, around 4:30 p.m. A woman, who was jogging near Jennings Mill Dr. & Jennings Ln., was grabbed by a man and sexually assaulted on a playground. Police said the woman was able to break free and then the attacker ran off.

The suspect is described as a heavy set African American male and was wearing a gray-hooded shirt and black pants.
