MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Two teens have been arrested in the September homicide of a 20-year-old man whose body was found in Silver Spring.

Police have charged Jesus Flores 18, who will be tried as an adult, and David Lagunes-Bolanos, 17, with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. They claim both are members of street gang MS-13.

The body of Cristopher Guerra, the victim, was found by a hiker on September 6 in a creek in Silver Spring. The medical examiner has ruled that he died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Detectives say that on the evening of September 2, Guerra left his home and told his mother he was going to meet a friend. A few hours later, she tried to call him on his cell phone, which appeared to have been turned off. Guerra didn’t come home, and was never heard from again. Police say their investigation indicates the friend that Guerra was planning to meet was Lagunes-Bolanos.
