Woman escapes attempted sexual assault in Sterling

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. — A woman punched a male suspect and managed to escape from him after he attempted to sexually assault her while she was walking home in Sterling.

The assault occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, in the area of Alberta Terrace and Edwards Terrace. An unknown man started following and attempting to talk to the victim. He then walked in front of her and pushed her to the ground.

The two struggled, and the victim punched the suspect, then ran home and called the police. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned man, possibly Hispanic, who was wearing a dark shirt and pants.

The victim wasn’t physically injured during the attack.
