Riverdale homicide suspects in custody

PRINCE GEORGES CO – Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged three suspects in connection with the homicide in Riverdale from Saturday morning. The suspects are Carlos Cardenas-Banegas, 29, Wilfredo Cardenas-Banegas, 24, and Kevin Soriana-Hernand, 18. They’re charged with the murder of 19 year old Carlos Garita-Salazar of Landover Hills.

On September 16th   around 1:30 am, patrol officers responded to a shooting on the 6000 block of 67th Place. When they arrived, the officers discovered the victim inside of a car suffering from trauma to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The motive in this case is under investigation.

The three suspects are in custody of the Department of Corrections. All are charged with first and second degree murder and are being held on a no-bond status.
