FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Two people are dead after their car ran off the road on Saturday night and hit a tree in Great Falls, police say.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 7 p.m. in the 10500 block of Beach Mill Road near Spring Vale. When police arrived on scene, they found the driver Benjamin Wenger, 26, and his passenger Abigail Ryan, 23, dead at the scene.

Another passenger, a 15-year-old girl whose identity has not been released, was in the backseat and was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives say their preliminary investigation indicates the car, an 2018 Infiniti Q50, was traveling westbound when it left the road to the north, swerved back across the road to the south and hit a tree.

Anyone who might have witnessed this crash is asked to call the CRU witness line at 703-280-0543, or the police non-emergency line at 703-691-2131.
