WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man who has been arrested more than two dozen times for indecent exposure was arrested again on Friday for an incident that occurred on Metro in June.

Nathaniel Ford, 29, was arrested Friday for an incident of sexual battery against a female victim on June 5, aboard a train in the area of West Falls Church Station. When the victim identified Ford, she said she recognized him from being previously victimized by him in a similar incident in January 2016.

Ford has been arrested two dozen times previously for indecent exposure. WMATA admitted in a press release that many of these incidents occurred on Metro, and that Ford has also been stopped 11 times in their stations for fare evasion.

“Unlike many other transit systems, Metro currently does not have the ability to bar individuals who commit repeat offenses,” said WMATA in a statement. “Currently, the only way to keep an individual off Metro is through a court-issued stay away order.”
