WASHINGTON DC -- An Alzheimer's awareness advocate from Atlanta spent the month of July walking the distance between his city and the nation's capital to bring an important message to policy makers.
That distance is roughly 640 miles.
William Glass used his time on the road through the South and Mid Atlantic to talk with caregivers and medical professionals. He said those conversations only drove home the point that more education, funding and compassion are needed in the fight against a disease that zaps memories and eventually kills.
We'll have more on Glass' journey Thursday night in our weekly DCW50 Heroes segment on DCW50 News at 10.
