ARLINGTON, Va. - Police say they have a woman in custody for allegedly stabbing two other women in a park by the Courthouse AMC movie theatre.

Arlington Police say they got the call for an altercation that led to a stabbing around 5:50 p.m.

When they got to the scene, police say they found two victims with multiple stab wounds getting help from bystanders.

Police used a trauma kit to stop the bleeding until EMS arrived.

They were transported to the trauma center at George Washington University Hospital in critical condition.

Police say the quickly took the suspect into custody.

Arlington County Deputy Chief of Police, Daniel Murray, says officers identified a bystander who made a "flying tackle" and held the suspect until officers got to the scene.

A man sitting in the park tells DCW 50 he witnessed the incident.

He says the woman accused of the stabbing frequents the area and usually always has a knife on her.

He says she was bothered by something earlier the day and just snapped.

"She started stabbing her, then the other girl is her niece, she ran over there to try to stop her and she started stabbing her too," he says. "It was scary because that girl was really trying to kill her."

Police say charges against the woman suspect are pending.
