Police make arrest after teen girl is shot in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department announced that an arrest has been made in a shooting that happened Thursday in Northeast D.C.

According to officials, officers responded to the 1400 block of Saratoga Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday after reports of a shooting. When they arrived, police found a man and a juvenile girl suffering from gunshot wounds. The two were transported to area hospitals. As this time, officials say the girl is in grave condition.

Police say 21-year-old Philip Carlos McDaniel has been arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill.
