FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. - A Fairfax man who runs a state-licensed, in-home daycare was charged on Wednesday with three counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child.

On June 20, police say an 11-year-old child reported being inappropriately touched, leading to Claudio Vargas Lazo, 43, being identified as the suspect.

The investigation also found that another child, a 9-year-old, made a similar report against the suspect.

Vargas Lago was arrested around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

He runs a daycare in the 3900 block of Kersntown Court in Fairfax.

Neighbors in the Foxfield community say he ran the daycare with his wife.

Police are asking to hear from anyone who is concerned their child had inappropriate contact with Vargas Lazo. They can contact Detective L.M. Smith at 703-246-7800, or the Child Protective Services Hotline at 703-324-7400.
